TD Ameritrade Option Fees self. Quick question about an offer I got from TD. Is this a better deal than tastyworks considering thinkorswim is a far better platform than tasty? There's much more to it.
So it's possible to negotiate. I like the per option charges no ticket as it allows for small adjustments here and there. Its pretty much a rounding error type fee to me. My margin rates are cheaper as well and I have international trading on my main trading account. Basically at the rate they offered you If fees are your main concern, then TW is the broker for you. If charting and mobile is important to you, then TD is for you. If you are a high volume trader, you'll save money with TW but there's a good chance you'd prefer what TD offers.
Once you trade with TD for a while, just request a fee reduction. I find it best to negotiate near the winter holidays. Other than that, the preferences are very individual. I mean, my whole response is based on an individual opinion I prefer tda, orders are filled quickly, i sense pricing is better and to be honest TW has a lot of development to do; they may have launched 2 months too early.
If you don't mind my asking, how much do you trade? I'm guessing quite a bit if you're negotiating rates. Did they approach you or did you approach them? But that's still more than tastyworks. It's very close though. Thanks for this informative thread. I recently opened an account with TDA and have the 90 days of free trades I'll have to negotiate with this new information. Free trades mean only no ticket charge with TDA.
