Very unorganized and unprofessional company to work for. Owners are horrible and treat employees like crap. To much drama, owners wife is very mean and disrespectful. The owner himself never takes responsibility for anything that goes wrong. He pays no attention to his small stores and what they need. The merchandise is all over the place. You don't know what type of customer you are trying to target. Inventory is always wrong. If you speak your opinion more then likely you will be fired.
Owner is very cheap when it comes to everything. He loves to cut corners. Please hire a district manager so you know what your stores need to make money. Have monthly store meetings with your store managers. Keep your personal business to your self. Don't talk about other store managers to other people. Learn to encourage your store managers.
Value the employees that have been loyal to you. Give full time employees health insurance and more then 20 hours a year of vacation time. Over all learn to communicate with store managers and actually listen to them. The clothing and accessories are great. Prices are amazing as well. The owners tell you one thing one day, and then another the next. They don't communicate with each other either. One will stop by and tell you how to set up the store and then next time the other owner is in the store, they will scold you for having the store set up the way the other one told you too.
There is absolutely no consistency with them. Some of the smaller stores are left in the dark and not told the same thing as the larger stores. There should be a District Manager that travels the stores and keeps the visuals consistent and stream-lined. There should also be monthly manager meetings or conference calls so that goals and needs can be discussed. Small stores, owners visit frequently and care about the employees that prove themselves.
You know they like you when they ask your opinion on items to bring in the store- the owners do most of the buying. You can learn a lot in this company about buying for stores if there long enough. Not a lot of hours, staff coming and going, managers in a store without an assistant manager cause hours can't be given to the smaller stores. If the owners don't like you or see you mess up your as good as gone in their book. Pay rates need to stay steady. Employees that have been loyal need to feel safe or they will be pushed out.
